Bharat (BH) Series Registration for Pan-India Mobility:

Employees of Central/State Governments, PSUs, and private sector companies with offices in 4 or more states/UTs can apply for the BH Series number plate. BH series eliminates the need to transfer registration or pay road tax again when relocating between states!

Types of Vehicle Registration in India

🚗 Permanent Registration

Issued for 15 years for private vehicles (LMV/MCWG) under CMVR Form 20. Handled via dealer point registration.

🇮🇳 Bharat (BH) Series

Bi-annual road tax format (e.g. 26 BH 1234 AA) providing seamless mobility across all 36 States & UTs without state NOC.

🔄 Transfer of Ownership

Buyer and seller transfer via Form 29 & Form 30 for second-hand vehicle purchases within 14–30 days.

⏱️ Temporary Registration

Valid for 30 days under Form 19 for vehicle transit from the showroom to the permanent destination state.

Mandatory Documents Checklist for New Registration

  • Form 20: Application for Registration of a Motor Vehicle.
  • Form 21: Sale Certificate issued by the authorized automobile manufacturer/dealer.
  • Form 22 / 22A: Roadworthiness Certificate from the vehicle manufacturer.
  • Valid Motor Insurance Policy: Active third-party or comprehensive policy.
  • Address & Identity Proof: Aadhaar Card, Passport, or Voter ID with residential proof.
  • Form 34 (If Financed): Hypothecation endorsement entry with bank seal.
